Photography

The teaching of photography has been a passion of mine since college. I have had years of traditional B&W photographic experience in the dark room, and over a decade of teaching video and photography in the K-12 classrooms. At the Academy, I taught my students how to use traditional film cameras as well as digital. In the teaching of these classes, my instructional pedagogy “flipped.”

One of my favorite cameras,  the Argus C4.

To know me is to understand that I love being outdoors – and bringing those who may not have had as much experience on different journeys. Most of this has come from parents who took us to Squam Lake each summer, to stay at the Rockwold Deephaven Camps. My Grandfather used to go there in the 1930′s, my mother went as a child, and so did we until my father’s stroke in 2003. Today I go camping at Squam on a small island called “Bowman.” It’s run by the Squam Lakes Association.

I also go winter camping and skiing. Here are some pictures of various trips.

A recent photo on Mt. Moosilauke. I shoot B&W photos as I have a camera that is totally manual – no batteries, so it can handle very cold weather. It is a minoltina-p.
